I want have a more chris cornell or steven tyler type voice. I have a good range I just think the type of voice I have sounds more emo than rock n' roll. What singing techniques can I use to make it sound more rock n' roll.

Go with the voice you have. You can always improve your technique to gain power and depth, but forcefully trying to change your voice is guaranteed to damage it.

instead of singing through your nose (which gives your voice a emo tonality) try going for the back of the throat which will make it more gutteral and deeper... that or try smoking... but its expensive, addictive and kills...
