take singing lesson, the teacher will give you tons of advice and your voice can be better than ever, some people have horrible voice but if you take a lot of singing lessons and pratice hard, your vocal will be better and if you want an english accent, have an english teacher or go to some place where people speak english, interacting with people helps you improve your language, including accent (sorry, my english is horrible because i usually speak french in Canada)

+ drink a lot of water, maintain your real voice intact, avoid soda or other beverage that doesn't contain other than water, my friend have singing lessons and she said that drinking water helps your voice, i forgot what she said, but water helps

Get a digital tuner from your local music store. It'll cost you about $20 bucks. It's a little device with lights that turn green when you are on key, and red when you are off key. Practice singing scales and simple songs to the digital tuner, noting when you are on and off key.

That may not seem to be the answer you are looking for, but trust me, it's a great first step. It will force you to be consistent with the notes that are already within your range. As you gain proficiency, you can work on expanding your range. But you will do so in a controlled environment. The tuning device is completely passive--it doesn't criticize you--it just tells the truth.

Practice scales this way for 15 minutes a day. After that, work on a couple of your songs. Sing them without accompaniment ( just like American Idol auditions). If you practice 30-45 minutes a day, every day, you will get better, and you voice will get clearer.
if you have lots of money, try singing/voice lessons.

Or if you are afraid to, do it on your own. A sample is record your voice in a recorder then listen to it.

try to find out where you need an improvement.

Then improve it!

if you can not find what's wrong, ask someone. a friend, relative, etc.

I think they will tell you the right answer.

And last, believe in yourself that you can improve!^^,

hope it helps!
The best thing you can do is to take lesions from a professional vocal coach.

Other than that, there are a few good software programs that can help in voice training. These include Singorama, Pure Pitch, and Sing Smart, Not Hard.

You can find these here:
well i sing, have been since I was a lil girl, and you just have to practice breathing......you have to practice when to breathe and it will give you a stronger note and it won't sound like you are straining your voice.
dont drink heavy liquids like milk or hot cocoa... and move your larynx (by adams apple) to stretch vocal chords.
Singing lesson will do wonders.
