Is my voice really that bad?

i love music and i like to sing too. and i've always thought i was passable. i mean, i dont get up and sing in front of people but i never thought i was terrible. but the other day i recorded a video on facebook just doing a silly music video kind of thing and when i played it up i sounded terrible. not how i thought i sounded at all. and now i'm kinda self conscious about it and wondering if i've been sucking all my life and just not known it. does making webcam videos change your voice around or do i sound different in my head than i actually sound to other people?
Is my voice really that bad?
Studys have shown that peoples voices do actually sound different to themselves rather than other people. So, to yourself, your voices sounds different to what everyone else is hearing

Congratulations, you've heard your real voice for the first time

Well of course webcam videos have horrible recording sounds but that doesn't matter. Have you been singing to songs all the time because you might mix up your voice with the singer's.
Both. Unless you get a crazy good recording system, your voice is going to sound different that what it actually is, and usually for the worse. And our voices always sound great to us, even if they don't to other people. If you're self-conscious, either find a really good, honest friend and ask for their opinion, or start to take some voice lessons or practice with a piano; you don't have to be serious to the point where you want to sound like the next American Idol, but enough so that you can sing along to a song around some people without sounding or feeling terrible.
Well u need to upload your singin video to youtube or somethin. We can't tell nothin about your voice without hearin it.

But yeah, u do sound different to yourself when u play back a recording than u do when u are actually talkin or singin live. But whether u suck or just think u suck I can't tell without hearin u.
When you sing you're not hearing how you really sound. this is because when you sing you are hearing yourself through your bone and not through your actual ears. You're getting self-concious now because you were shocked at how different your real voice is from how you thought you sounded. So, yes you do sound different to yourself than you sound to other people. Though the fact that it was on a webcam could have altered you voice a bit. Get yourself some kind of audio recorder and get used to hearing your real voice so you can move forward.
Depending on the quality of the camera it will sound different trust. I am in singing and then my voice sounded weird a little but we went into a recording studio with professional recording system it sounded fine no tapering lol yeah it will sound different NOT A LOT but different
