Helium Vs. Voice?!?!?!?!?

How and Why does Helium change your voice.

Is it bad to inhale Helium?
Helium Vs. Voice?!?!?!?!?
helium gas is much less dense than the oxy/nitrogen we normally breath and it allows the vocal chords to vibrate more quickly so your voice is pitched high,

Helium is not poisonous but when you breath it a couple of times you will have flushed all the oxygen from your system and will pass out. The body is signaled to breathe, by a higher concentration of CO2 in your blood, but after breathing helium or any other single gas, for that matter, the CO2 is flushed from your bloodstream so that when you pass out from lack of oxygen, your lungs do not get the impulse to start breathing again and you will die.

That's why it is dangerous, particularly for children.
Helium Vs. Voice?!?!?!?!?
Instead of inhaling oxygen, you are inhaling much more of another gas than you ever normally would. This just happens to be a sideaffect of breathing it in. Too much of anything is poisonous to you, and you should never breathe in too much helium, to the point where it is generally suggested not to do it.
Helium is less dense than the air . The voice box filled with helium allows the %26quot;strings%26quot; in the larynx to have less tension on them, therefore, making a different tone.
